Kinbane Castle was built by Colla MacDonnell, brother of Sorley Boy, around the 1540s. The castle has been built on an impressive limestone headland known as the White Head. The headland is accessed by a steep path from the clifftop and routes west and east are blocked by huge cliffs. An interesting sea tunnel passes underneath the headland itself. In addition to the castle, an old derelict fisherman's cottage lies nearby. Rathlin Island can be seen in the distance of this photograph.
